Trot Horsemanship Day Camp

Costs: $75

Length of Time: 10am - 3pm.

Overnight option:  Cost $125  Start time 4pm  March 14.  Includes Dinner on Wednesday night, along with breakfast and lunch Thursday.  Plus extra ride and horse time.

Class Description

A fun filled day for you "Horse Lovers". Cpme improve your riding skills with fun activities.

Prerequisite is the Basic Horsemanship Day Camp and pre-approval by our staff. We hope you'll remember what we taught you and can now practice it all. This will include the haltering, leading, grooming, tacking up and then riding. Followed by the cooling out and feeding.

We'll start with an introductory ride working on proper posture, cueing and gaits. A horse Obstacle Course will be used to make it interesting and to measure your progress. Then we'll hit the road for a Trail Ride.

Bring your own lunch.

Space is limited since each person will need their own horse for the day, so register early. Extra classes can be scheduled if need. Class limit 6-8. Age 10 years old and up.

FYI : Camp Tonkawa DOES have some various size helmets, or bring your own

Medical Release Waivers are required - NO EXCEPTIONS.

TROT Horse Day Camp was on Thursday March 18. Seven Horse Crazy girls enjoyed all day on horseback.  Counselors Sarah Getz and Alisha Edwards organized a scavenger hunt on horseback and had new games that the girls enjoyed during the camp.  We would like to thank both counselors for volunteering their time in exchange for riding.
