Women and Horses

Length of Time: 10am - 3pm.
Class Description
This class is for all of you who "wish" they had a horse. You will get a general overview of the responsibilities of having a pet of this size. Wear your old blue jeans and boots, if you happen to have them (hiking boots the next best footwear, then gym shoes), because you will get a chance to do some basic riding.

- Horse Anatomy
- Grooming - tools and techniques
- Learn about the various tack (bridles, saddles, etc.)
- Feeding Rules
- Health maintenance
- Teeth and Age
- Farrier care
- Halter, Lead, and Tie correctly
- Riding Basics
- Knowing the Gaits the horse travels in
- Rules of the Trail
- Safety when working with horses
ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS FOR OUR ADULT STUDENTS
- Proper riding posture
- Yoga exercises on horseback
- Listening to what your horse is saying
- Communicating with a horse so that you understand each other
- Bareback experience
Bring your own lunch. Helmets are NOT provided - if you need one B.Y.O.H.(Helmet)
Class space is limited to 14 adults so register early. (Additional dates can be set up if there is enough interest.)
We have a swimming pond, so bring provisions to enjoy.
NOTE : All classes have a minimum number of registrants to make or sorry to say it will be cancelled. So bring your friends and tell everyone you know. Some classes are listed but are not currently on the schedule for the upcoming year. If your group has an interest we can schedule a date for you.
Large Family Rates are available.
